This is serious!!!!! How on earth can the whole INEC be broke? Nigeria!!!! Some things should not even be news, it should not be heard. So, INEC is broke and some people want pay increase? What will save this country???

Chairman of INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega has revealed to members of the House of Representatives Committee on Electoral Matters, who visited INEC headquarters in Abuja, yesterday.
Dr. Abdulkadir Sulaiman, who represented Prof. Jega, said: “If we don’t do anything about it on time, we may not be able to pay salary by next month.”
Following this development, the chairman called on the legislators to quickly intervene and save the situation, else the commission’s aspiration of conducting the 2015 general election in line with international best practices would be a mirage.
He also told the visiting legislators, led by the Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Jerry Manwe, that the paucity of fund had drastically slowed down the pace of work on all the capital projects being executed by the commission.
According to him, no other release has reached INEC as the second quarter release did not come directly to the commission.
Jega said: “Of the N35 billion earmarked for the commission in the 2012 budget, only N10 billion was released to the commission in March. That was seven months ago.
“The second quarter of the money was released to the commission last month, September.”
“However, it was not sent directly to the commission, it was lodged in the Treasury Savings Account under the office of the Accountant-General of the Federation. The commission is yet to access this fund.

“It has sent complaint to the Minister of Finance, requesting for exemption from the TSA scheme in view of the autonomy granted this commission in the 1999 Constitution and the 2010 Electoral Act.
“The commission is still awaiting the Minister’s response. And in view of the fact that the N10 billion released to the commission is quite low, the commission has to suspend most of its projects, pending the time the remaining money is released.

He said the projects include renovation of INEC offices nationwide, printing of permanent voter cards, purchase of 100 KVA power generating sets in INEC offices nationwide, construction of residences of INEC Resident Commissioners, and electrification of state offices of INEC.

American Politics is just so sweet, an African, there is so much to learn. It is different from wht we know as Politics and Election.
I love President Obama.....he will always be an inspiration. He makes great speeches and very good with the crowd but unfortunately,Debates are not speeches! He was not really forth coming in this first debate, not the same Obama.
AS much as many people love the Democrats, you never should rule out the Republicans. If you do that, you do it at your own peril. It is a tight race and after yesterday's debate, it was clear that Mitt Romney can seriously compete with the president for his Hot Seat. He too can run the job.

It is beginning to look like a spin in his favour and the man is seriously capitalising on it.It is a whole new ball game and it is going to get even tighter.Obama's weak first performance was in keeping with other recent first debates for incumbent presidents. George W. Bush in 2004, his father, George H.W. Bush, in 1992 and Ronald Reagan in 1984 all had difficult first debates after being deferred to during their first four years as president.

At this point, a strong debate may not be enough for Mitt Romney but it is a plus. The Republicans can continue to claim the bragging right on his important first debate but we will not be carried away. There is so much power for Obama as the president.
Campaign manager Jim Messina said Obama was not worried about trying to shoehorn the attacks on Romney into a fact-filled and detail-heavy debate on economic policy.
"We've always treated the American voters with respect," White House adviser David Plouffe said when asked if Obama had been too detailed. "Are you saying they can't understand details of his healthcare plan, or of Medicare?"
Messina, asked if the famously wordy Obama would work on keeping his answers shorter, smiled and said, "That's never going to be our strong suit."

Another reason to love the upcoming James Bond movie....Adele is singing!
It is confirmed! Adele has recorded the theme to the upcoming James Bond movie Skyfall and  she has also co-written the track.
The 24-year-old was initially unsure whether she wanted to take the project, according to the official James Bond website .
"There's a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a Bond song," it quoted her as saying.
"But I fell in love with the script. It was also a lot of fun writing to a brief, something I've never done, which made it exciting."
The song was written by Adele and Paul Hepworth, who co-wrote her hit Rolling In The Deep. It was recorded at London's Abbey Road Studios.
Adele, whose albums include 19 and 21, posted a picture on her Twitter feed of what appears to be the sheet music cover page for the song.
She added: "When we recorded the strings, it was one of the proudest moments of my life.
"I'll be back combing my hair when I'm 60 telling people I was a Bond girl back in the day, I'm sure!"
The Rumours that the Grammy-winning British singer had recorded the theme is now officially true.
The song will be available on Adele's official site on Friday, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the release of Dr No, the first Bond movie.
The track is already available for pre-order on iTunes.
The film, Daniel Craig's third big-screen Bond adventure, opens in Britain on October 26 and in the US on November 9.
The cast includes Javier Bardem, Albert Finney, Ralph Fiennes and Naomie Harris.
The theme to the last Bond film, Quantum Of Solace, was performed by Jack White and Alicia Keys.

For those who love old school, here is some news you shoulld hear. If you love the Supremes, Temptations and the popular Marvin Gaye, then you would have heard of Frank Wilson or even know something about him. Frank Wilson has died at 71 in Southern California.
Frank Wilson worked with the Supremes, the Temptations and Marvin Gaye. His Daughter Tracey Stein tells the Los Angeles Times  that Wilson died of lung infection complications on Sept. 27 in a hospital in Duarte.
Frank Wilson, who later became a minister, wrote or co-wrote the hits "Love Child" for Diana Ross and the Supremes, "Chained" for Marvin Gaye and "All I Need" for the Temptations.
After Eddie Kendricks left the Temptations, Wilson produced his 1973 hit "Keep On Truckin' (Part 1)."
Wilson also helped write "You've Made Me So Very Happy," a 1967 Top 40 single for Motown's Brenda Holloway that soon became an even bigger hit for Blood, Sweat and Tears.

Little Miss J.LO.....I LOVE THIS

It's been a while...i"ve been busy learning to be a mum after the pregnancy experience!  Motherhood is great and being a new mum, i can say enough.
But seeing this photo on line is cool. I just couldn't resist this temptation. Four year old Emme Anthony is really cute especially looking at her sitting between her mum and Casper Smart at Paris Fashion Show.
