"I AM SHORT OF WORDS":MTN PLANE WONDER
‘I am short of words, there is no word to describe what I feel right
now, it is almost as if it is a dream but I know that nothing can be
more real than what I am feeling right now. This must be the best
Christmas gift ever. It is truly wonderful"
These were the words of 27 year-old student Miss Ebube Essien-Garricks who was announced as the winner of the much publicized ‘Ultimate Wonder Aeroplane’ promo run by telecommunication company MTN. It was not a hoax as some believed and it has finnaly happened. A perfect Christmas present, if you ask me.She has opted for the money equivalent which means she will be receiving the sum of N64m. A change of life....Totally!

DAVID PETRAEUS:would you follow his rules?
After all the news of scandal rocking The CIA courtesy General Petraeus and it still continues to get bigger, perhaps, we could learn something from the man himself. The question is; "would you follow his rules?" Maybe this isn't all about sex as most people think but that is what makes it interesting.......
This was published Nov. 5 just days before Gen. David Petraeus resigned as director of the CIA over an extramarital affair with his biographer Paula Broadwell. The same woman who is at the center. It is just funny how an inappropriate behavior with an outsider can mess people up....a sad way to end a career as a four star General. Maybe we are too hard on the man, judging him....who knows? He is a human being after all.
Just in case you are yet to read the 12 rules, read below:

DAVID PETRAEUS' 12 RULES FOR LIVING:
1. Lead by example
from the front of the formation. Take your performance personally—if
you are proud to be average, so too will be your troops.
2. A
leader must provide a vision—clear and achievable “big ideas” combined
in a strategic concept—and communicate those ideas throughout the entire
organization and to all other stakeholders.
3. A leader needs to give energy; don’t be an oxygen thief.
4. There
is an exception to every rule, standard operating procedure, and
policy; it is up to leaders to determine when exceptions should be made
and to explain why they made them.
5. We
all will make mistakes. The key is to recognize them and admit them, to
learn from them, and to take off the rear view mirrors—drive on and
avoid making them again.
6. Be humble. The people you’ll be leading already have on-the-ground conflict experience. “Listen and learn.”
7. Be a team player. “Your team’s triumphs and failures will, obviously, be yours.” Take ownership of both.
8. Don’t
rely on rank. If you rely on rank, rather than on the persuasiveness of
your logic, the problem could be you and either your thinking or your
communication skills. Likewise, sometimes the best ideas come from
bottom-up information sharing (i.e., “Need to share” not “Need to
know”). Use “directed telescopes” to improve situational awareness.
9. Leaders
should be thoughtful but decisive. Listen to subordinates’ input,
evaluate courses of action and second- and third-order effects, but be
OK with an “80 percent solution.” “There will be many moments when all
eyes turn to you for a decision. Be prepared for them. Don’t shrink from
them. Embrace them.” Sometimes the best move is the bold move.
10. Stay fit to fight. Your body is your ultimate weapons system. Physical fitness for your body is essential for mental fitness.
11. The
only thing better than a little competition is a lot of competition.
Set challenges for your subordinates to encourage them to excel.
12. Everyone
on the team is mission critical. Instill in your team members a sense
of great self-worth—that each, at any given time, can be the most
important on the battlefield.

GRACE MUGABE.....SAY WHAT?
Africa is obviously is a different part of the world. Sometimes you just wonder!
Grace Mugabe is the wife of Robert Mugabe. she spoke Saturday at the Today’s Women Conference at Glamis Stadium in Harare, the Zimbabwean capita. The conference was organised by Prophetess Eunor Guti of the Zimbabwe Assemblies of God. Madam Mugabe recently had these to say about citizens of Zimbabwe going for prayers/ divine intervention elsewhere but the point remains that it is just irony. Does she live in Zimbabwe and if she lives there, i hope she hears the news to know what Zimbabwe looks like to the outside world.
Her words:
“I really don’t understand why scores of people are putting their faith on foreign preachers. They are having to raise a lot of money to visit them when in Zimbabwe we are blessed with anointed people of God who are able to do even greater things.”
“It doesn’t matter which denomination you belong to, we are all seeking one God. Believe in our prophets and stop wasting money visiting faraway countries. In Zimbabwe we have people who, through prayer, can heal you from your sickness and restore your broken marriage.
“People have this misconception that Zimbabweans do not know how to pray. Little do they know that we have a lot of anointed people who are able to help us because they know the environment that we are operating under. A closer look at the countries which are being thronged by our people reveals that they are torn by war and hunger,” she said.
“I might be Grace Mugabe of Zimbabwe, but I cannot do it all on my own,” she said to wild applause.
“I go to Amai Guti seeking guidance and she prays for me. The prayers enable me to keep my family and life together. I see God’s power in her and I have come to realise that God gives you people in your life to do certain tasks that you cannot do on your own because they are anointed in that area.
“There is no point in trying to compete or badmouth the anointed because theirs is a gift from God.
“To know what to do require wisdom that comes from God,” she said.
African wonder indeed.

JUSTIN AND SELENA: GOODBYE
It will NOT be fair to say she used Justin to rise up the fame ladder, then dumped him when he realized, she needed real men. Poor Selena, the pain of having to date the teenage sweetheart; really so much work and serious nerve to hold swallow the jealousy..... Only both of them really know why they said bye-bye and believe me, they are so over it already even before they split. They are growing up, soon they will realize it is one of those things and learn what it takes to keep a relationship healthy, happy and alive! it is not always as easy and romantic as the tabloids put it.
Pastor Oritsejafor PRIVATE JET: WHAT ABOUT IT?
I am really wondering what is the big deal if the congregation of a church decides to buy their pastor a jet? The truth remains that it is their business. If they cannot and refuse to see things the way people are coming all down on them, it is best they be left alone. As much as i am not really in support of pastors being wretched (It does not reflect the true image of God) i think it is best we leave them to their lifestyles. The contrast in standard of living in this country can leave us with some unanswered questions but that how it is especially when all we can do is talk about it..... even if you probe further, there is very little can do. That is the bitter truth! As long as the giver and the receiver don't see anything wrong with it, there's nothing anyone can do.
In case you missed the story, read it below:
The President of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, has now joined the elite league of Nigerian clergies, who own a private jet.
This was affirmed on Saturday as members of The Word of Life Bible Church, in Ajamimogha, Warri, Delta state, presented the Pastor with a private jet as his birthday gift.
The leader of Christian community in Nigeria, who is fondly called Papa Ayo, was celebrating his birthday and his 40th anniversary on the pulpit, when he was presented the gift.
Present amongst the congregation to felicitate with the Pastor was President Goodluck Jonathan.
The ceremony kicked off immediately with the entrance of the President with the singing of the national anthem.
The president in a short remark, asked Nigerians to continue to build bridges across tribes and states to allow for a more unified country. He noted that it is better to have a more united Nigeria that will present a formidable force in both the sub-region and the global community.
President Jonathan also gave a brief address on the celebrant and wished him many more years ahead.
Responding to all the good wishes, Pastor Oritsejafor thanked the President, the Delta state governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, the Speaker, Delta state House of Assembly, Engr. Victor Ochie and all other dignitaries at the occasion.
The high point of the ceremony was the presentation of a private jet as birthday gift by members of the church.
A brief sermon was given by an international preacher, Dr Mike Murdock on seven laws of success.
He urged all Nigerians to build their faith and work with God.
