David Beckham & that his Tattoo
David Beckham never seem to do much wrong but this time, parents in the UK are speaking out, Hmmm....so much for Tattoos! That Posh Spice tattoo looks great but then.....its a choice thing even though its sparking up complains...the dude really loves his wife..don't you agree? Below is the controversial ad!
Pictures of Becks' tattoo of Victoria in lingerie on his arm appeared on promotional posters and collection boxes for the Sainsbury's Active Kids scheme.
Anita Deacon, of Winshill Pre-School in Burton, Staffordshire, said: "We're not being prudish.
"We just think it's inappropriate. The tattoo depicts Posh Spice wearing nothing but underwear and posing provocatively."
BEYONCE AND KOURTNEY K.....what exactly?
First...i read that Beyonce was faking her pregnancy and wearing prosthetic breast and there is another talk of her carrying around a fake baby......what exactly? Who cares if she is carrying around a real or fake baby? very funny.... what do you see in this photos?
There is also Kourtney K and her Pregnancy which i hear whispers of it being photoshopped. How true is that? I just wonder what these People see or hear that they figure out some of these bizzare topics.... I guess its not the end...we will definitely hear more. Whatever happened to the pregnancy, i guess Mason's Mother or Mrs Scott knows best.

THE NIGERIAN POLICE: MINDSET OR UNIFORM?
As much as I don’t like the Nigerian Police black on black, I still cannot understand how the new uniform will transform the force. Black on black is not the issue, because American Police have Black on Black (just that how it is worn in Nigeria is different) and they make being a policeman totally cool. The Nigerian Police has its peculiarities, the issues with the force is beyond just having them wear a new uniform. Agreed, this is a way to change the way Nigerians see the Police but it should not be a priority right now. Nigerians want a new Police, improved but we firstly want to be safe. After that we can have eyes for the new uniform.
I was thinking……isn’t mindset more important than the uniform? The average Nigerian Police needs total revamp: their outlook on what they job really means, improved welfare, not new uniforms. The acting IG should focus on the psychology of his men, he has to understand why they act the way they do and figure how to improve their work ethics. Focus on how to improve discipline and help them see their work in new light.
Typical of most Nigerians, we will see the new uniforms admire how good it looks but we are not sure how that changes the men inside the uniforms. The welfare of the Police needs to improve; they have to know that while they put their lives on the line, someone looks after their loved ones.
You really try to believe in this country sometimes but then you listen to the news and you wonder if our leaders are on the same page with the masses. We just happen to have different things on our list of priorities. These high and mighty decisions just make you wonder. Some of these decisions with all the supposed good intentions, just does very little to motivate; it leaves you with a sour feeling and reminds you that the “the Nigerian factor” still happens around here. At every point, we want leaders we can believe in, people who can inspire you to believe in this country regardless of the challenges, individuals who will champion change we can see, change we can believe in, not lip service. It reminds me bow Central Bank of Nigeria is championing cashless or cashlite (whichever) and we are still in perpetual darkness: poor electricity! How exactly do you automate a country with no electricity? Nigeria! How can you be willing to spend money to buy a shoe for a man that no leg to walk when all he needs is a wheelchair?
When Nigerians are not safe, the last thing we want to hear now is how the FG has approved new uniforms, when they cannot help reduce the damage this fuel subsidy removal has done. With countries like China dictating the world economy, India rising up, one would expect Nigerian leaders to face the challenge instead of turning deaf ears to top issues. Nothing has changed in Agriculture after they promised to be eating cassava bread……we really have to check our priorities, we are obviously speaking different language.
In this Nigeria, some people preach that we should believe in Nigeria but their children are schooling abroad, deep down we know they don’t believe in this country. Leaders come and go, they just figure out a way, a programme to siphon our money.
I am really trying to believe and act optimistic but seriously, I refuse to agree with this one…..the new uniform just doesn’t work for me.
SURVIVING ON THE JOB part 2
No work environment is 100% perfect but things can get better. How can someone spend their active years somewhere and still not feel a lilt sense of human dignity? Playing favourites and using unofficial yardstick to measure how the job is done fosters eye-service and creates unnecessary tension in the work place. Some people do not know how to separate their personal lives from their jobs simply because most of them do not have life outside their jobs. What that means is that they tend to expect people around them to be that workaholic, their job dictates their lives and when people act otherwise, it becomes a problem for their subordinates. You find such people coming to work as early as 7am and still working at 8pm. They are the type of people who will find ways to use up other people’s weekends with things that are unnecessary. People are fired or queried for the least mistakes or something that is totally unofficial. Even when the job suffers, some people refuse to take another person’s opinion because they feel threatened.
People have understood their job functions so that sometimes, work does not suffer. If a person knows that the progress of the job depends on him/her, perhaps it will change their approach to work, instead of roaming around and letting a file lie fallow on their desk.
Our system is still paperwork driven. A lot of people so love hard copies, when they can have soft copies, reduce paperwork and clutter in the office. Our system is plagued with report writing that nobody is reading or even using, seminars and meeting that nobody uses the deliberations and talks that does not go beyond the lips. We are so taken by procedures, talks that yield no result. The pursue of money and profit is at all cost even when people who work to bring the money suffer. Those at the top are huge spenders and when those in the engine room complain of any need, they are swept under the carpet. We need to pay attention to operations, listen to those who actually do the work…let us not be quick to jump at profit. Don’t put people working under conditions; you would never let yourself be in.
It is a shame that sometimes, people flipping burgers have a better sense of human dignity and respect than some big salary-corporate staff. We know these things are not right but it continues. All these things have a way of affecting us generally and who we are as a nation. There are some things that money cannot buy…a little kindness and treating others better can make a whole lot of difference. Treat people with respect; let them know that their input is important. Don’t use your power to suppress others…..remember nobody is perfect. It is all to get the job done. Don’t trample others down because of your ambition to climb; you will meet them on your way down. It is only a job, just one phase in the cycle of life. There is always more to life.
The cycle continues, who knows, it could be your child working tomorrow under someone who has become hardened by this same system.
SURVIVING ON THE JOB! part 1
Is it just me or there are some who would agree with me on this….. “We can do more to improve on our work ethics in Nigeria”. I am sure people will agree with me at this point. Both private and Government, there is something that rubbishes our work ethics and makes it majorly lip service. This is Nigeria; we have our way of doing things…..maybe we are so used to it now. You listen to people and they seem to be saying the same thing…..it is not just me, if people would just admit. In the end, a lot of things go wrong and work suffers. With all the profit and success on the outside, human dignity is totally eroded and continues to suffer the same fate. While it is true that money is a motivating factor around here, it is understandable because man must survive…..so people have to endure demeaning conditions and procedures to keep body and soul together, as it were.
As a new staff with all their vigour and expectations, you go for training and you are lectured, motivated all round with the goals, rules and regulations of the company, what drives it, then you return to your station and you find your own direct boss breaking that same rule with a straight face. They tell you to do as you are told, not as they do. Anything outside that and you suffer for doing like your superior.
The manner some superior talk down their subordinates leaves little to be desired. It leaves the subordinate feeling disoriented, disorganised and his morale goes flat bottom. Sometimes, unofficial personal errands are used as yardstick to measure loyalty and ultimately leverage for promotion and even sanctioning of officers. You find people coming home late sometimes, tired and feeling totally useless all in a bid of running an unofficial errand. At the end of the day, the guy’s schedule is disrupted, his work suffers…..a lot of people simply do not know what multi tasking means; should it include unofficial errands like baby sitting, going to the market, children pick up from schools, airport pick up and drop off (when you are not a driver?), attending unofficial functions (even at the expense of personal and family life) at most weekends and working when people should be resting. Sharing with other people is great but sometimes, it is like making a register; being present.
A lot of potentially great human minds with the best intentions see themselves diminishing and gradually settling for less because they are in a tight corner between pleasing the boss (keeping the job) and following the rules.
You find colleagues sabotaging themselves to get the boss’s approval, engaging in eye-service at all cost just to buy that favour……the sad thing is that it actually works. The man who practices eye service is the one who seem to get all the favours.
Sometimes, when people display this disturbing and embarrassing behaviour, it comes from people you would not believe would stoop that low as to use eye service to buy favours even at the expense of others. Blackmail, gossiping and all manner of unholy behaviours that does not apply in the work environment happens in places you least expect. We are so used to these things we just have accepted it as one of those things.
While profit is major goal and money motivates, there is a limit to where it can reach…after a while people begin to want more and want better. They become exhausted and work ultimately suffers. People should be treated right both as subordinates and colleagues. People have to feel genuinely appreciated and when somebody does a good job, commend them. Some people never have anything besides complain and complain….funny enough, they cannot do that same job that well. Don’t be the type of a person who champions suffer-head methods of doing things and practice what you preach. Our work ethics in Nigeria is so bad that even those who make the fat salaries still feel some sense of emptiness and some are willing to trade their job for something else because of how things are done in their office.

SO FALSE....NO WEDDING DRESS FOR J.LO
This is serious rumour. That J.Lo just ordered a new dress from Roberto Cavalli. The truth is that Cavalli's twitter was hacked.
Just to be safe, the next time a wild rumour like this trails....we know how to get the truth. At least, no wedding Number 4, yet. Relax..people.
The actress and American Idol Judge has responded by saying;
"I decided there needs to be a place (The J. Low), where you can get the truth," she continued. "Using this site as my way to connect, I'll share the reality of my life right here, and make sure you never have to wonder about what is or isn't real. What I tell you is the truth, everything else is just talk. Thanks for supporting and always believing in me."Just to be safe, the next time a wild rumour like this trails....we know how to get the truth. At least, no wedding Number 4, yet. Relax..people.
BOKO HARAM:WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT?
I remember when it all began....who would have thought that this Boko Haram issue will get this far and huge? What started quietly and so simple has metamorphosized into a major concern. Security is a major concern and president Goodluck Jonathan is having so much to deal with.
To rule a country like Nigeria, you must be resolute and not sit on the fence. Everyday, all manner of headlines that further complicates everything.
I don't think the president doesn't know what to do....he only has to make up his mind to do it. It has gone way over the top and this is not time for talk, all manner committees, it is time for action. It is no longer about Tribe, religion or region.....it has gone beyond that.

KIM KARDASHIAN.....YOU JUST WONDER!
This lady sure knows how to keep herself in the headlines...she likes the attention and i just think its over the top sometimes....what exactly what she aiming at? so she couldn't sleep? what about it? Itbjust makes you wonder what some stars do with thier celebrity power....she will soon fade and she should stop over rating her sexiness...there are better issues to focus on....she makes it look like that is all she is all about...sexiness! Of what benefit is that to anybody? How exactly does Kim K's naked body help the world? There are many ways to still be superstar and be covered!
WHAT ARE YOU WORTH?
They are terrified of loosing their jobs and they fear what will become of them when these things are taken away. But we really should think that sometimes. Ask yourself, if you will still be somebody when these things are no longer there. Are these the things that really define who you are? Will you still be happy, be positive with self esteem when you do not have them? When all your friends are gone, when your cash flow is down.....are you all about what you have? what you you wear? is your life value driven or material driven?
We are humans and certainly not rats. Reject this type of life. A life that keeps you in the average. A life that does not let you think outside the box. All these societal pressures to be it all and have it all make sure you stay in the rat race. The pressure is huge to achieve, even children face the same pressure at a very young age. You have to reject these pressures and reason things properly. You begin to limit yourself and slowly you run the race and become a full member of the rat race club. You should ask yourself, is it really worth it? The price is so high and soon you loose your mind, sense of dignity and you miss out on what is really important.
You just miss out on what God has for you. God gave you gifts to excel but here you are chasing unhealthy competition, being in a place you are not supposed to be, doing what someone else should be doing.
That only complicates your life. You know it and you just refuse to face it. Like I said earlier, when you feel like a cubicle dweller confined to the walls of your office, your lifestyle, you become consumed with climbing the success ladder, like that is all that matters, the type of success the bandwagon has defined for you. It is reflected in politics that breeds pointless competition in any institution.
In the rat race, people are never contented with what they already have, they want more and more. They think it is boring and it does not fit what success really means but the fact is as long as it provides you time to think, peace of mind and contentment, you are better off. Getting in the rat race is like getting on a full bus packed up with people like you that are like cattle on the way to the market. You should ask yourself, what is this all about? Doing all this for how long? Are you not tired of waking up odd hours into a life you don’t enjoy and sleeping late, exhausted and frustrated all in the name of having a life?
In the words of Wendy Wasserstein; don’t live down to expectation, go out there and do something remarkable. Nobody wants to be a rat but we have to decide to stop running like them. Define what success means and it will help you cope.
In the end it is up to you. You can decide to get on something better and be an expert doing what you love or just get stuck there, miserable, feeling sorry for yourself.

DO SOMETHING...2
Take a step! There is too much hype about planning, everybody seems to have a plan, we even know how to act but for the most part, we never do. When will start doing that nice plan on our bookshelf, that stuff we wrote in our pocket notebook, visit that friend, begin doing the things we love and enjoy? No matter how huge your intentions are, no matter what you believe in, if you are not action oriented, you are as good as the man who has no plan at all. Probably, you planning one huge stuff, waiting for the right time to do it and you hype it, dream it and begin to feel cool about it, if you do not act on it, you are as good as that other guy who just goes about with no plan, at least, he has not invested his energy to plan anything while you are just day dreaming, talking about it. people are probably tired of hearing talk about it. You have been saying you will go back to school, this is 3 years gone and yet you have no attempt to register because you are waiting for the right time. You want to write ICAN, you say it, you seem to know everything about it but you simply cannot get yourself to read because you say you are busy. If you really want it you will do a thing about it because if a thing is important, we surely will have the time for it. How come you never forget to brush your teeth and you never miss out on your favourite sitcom?
As Christians, we know that faith MUST be with works. It is everything, without works, your faith is dead. It does not matter how you say to people you are a better dressmaker, a better tailor, a better writer, a better footballer, a better model, a better preacher than someone who is already doing it. it changes nothing because you are just there doing nothing about it. People talk every day, all sorts of analysis; routine meetings without end, people just sit and listen to all the good intentions, all the “what we are going to do” grammar, resolutions, resources and people’s time are just wasted because in the end, nothing ever really happens. You come to meeting again, read the minutes, correct mistakes, adopt it and say the same things. The cycle continues and it is likewise with many of our private lives. It is like going to church, hearing great sermon, you are awakened but then you go back to who you use to be. You just shout Hallelujah like you were so touched by the message, dance to music, wave your hands but your life never changes because, you still do the same thing. You even forget the preaching before you reach your house.
The world is such that people want answers not analysis, results not prospects. Don’t sit there, do something about your plans, your dreams.
DO SOMETHING... 1
Take full responsibility for your life. I bet you have heard that times over but are you really doing that? This includes taking responsibility for your choice, decisions and actions. Quit blaming others, somebody else or something for whatever it is. You really should grow up, face it and get over yourself. Taking responsibility involves doing something, not sitting down there and doing nothing.
Quit feeling sorry for yourself, it is your life, in case you forgot that, you have that responsibility to yourself to get yourself living.
Yeah, do something. Even if you say, Margaret, i want to do something about how am feeling, where I am in life but how do i begin? No matter how crossed your roads are, you can begin by;
- Saying a simple prayer to God, tell Him how you feel and ask Him to help you. That is somewhere to start.
- You can also re-evaluate your life, your plans and think through. THINK! It is not extinct yet (as my brother BJ once said), which means, it is okay to think things through starting NOW.
- Quitting a life of complaining: whining about everything and getting worked up over things you cannot do anything about. Do not waste your time complaining to people who cannot help you, that is what most of us do.
- Accepting yourself just as you are. Tell yourself the truth and admit your weaknesses but don’t let it weigh you down.
- Face what isn’t working in your life and deal with it. Stop making excuses about them, whatever they are and decide that you want to move on.
- Get on with the right people, people who light your fire and drive you towards positive movement in your life.
These are ways you can begin or do something about whatever it is, you want to do something about. People can talk all day about their plans. These people are everywhere; sometimes it is you and me. We find them as parents, siblings, bosses, politicians, colleagues: they are everywhere but the funny part is Talk is cheap. The queue for “talking” is so long but more people are still joining it, while the one for doing is very short. People wish to join; they really really want to join the “doing” line, they even pray to join but they never do anything about it. It is so hard for people to cross from the talking to the doing line. I hear it is so hard to do, yeah! Joining the doing line but i also hear it is possible. Perhaps, we should strive and hold unto the possibility. Success people are action oriented and it is the difference between excellence and average. ACTION!
MY TARA FELA-DUROTOYE EXPERIENCE!
I have heard so much about MRS FELA-DUROTOYE and sometimes it’s hard to understand that hype that goes with it. Since I have never met her in person, I really could explain what makes her that person that inspires people, besides, I am not so much of a make up person……but that all changed after my experience at FATE FOUNDATION Women’s seminar on the 8th of March, 2012. She walks her talk and she represents the make believe of the benefit of being an Entrepreneur. She is the type of woman you can go on listening to and feel inspired. House of Tara is brand but beyond all that, Tara is an epitome of hard work and a testimony to the fact that you can do what you love successfully.
I want to be my own boss and that drives me everyday. That is where the future lies. The road is not easy, it is not for the faint hearted and it is not one short trip. You must be ready to go the extra mile, learn from your failure and get better. You must focus! I was truly inspired yesterday and felt that oomph to keep going. Big thanks to FATE FOUNDATION…that experience will always be a plus! I would do it all over again.
